After cameoing on local label X-AMNT earlier this year with two memorable contributions to their One PHAT Trip Hazard EP, Bristol DJ and producer Sniffa makes his full-fledged debut this December with the innovative jump-up single “Precious Love”.

Born Jacob Peters, Sniffa has steadily made a name for himself as one of the West Country’s most well-rounded electronic musicians since emerging on the scene in recent years. Adopting the moniker NO ADDED JACKET for his more leftfield creations, he also makes up one half of the experimental bass duo B-Js, giving him ample opportunity to draw for his boldest and most off-the-wall track selections. On top of all this, as a member of the nascent artist collective PHAT, he can be found frequenting the club circuit in his hometown, dropping an array of drum and bass heaters to unsuspecting audiences.

Introducing itself with an impassioned soul vocal and silky Rhodes keys, new single “Precious Love” is a shining example of Sniffa’s eclectic approach to production. Funk-charged basslines and halftime claps are woven into the mix, creating a feel-good atmosphere, but it doesn’t last for long—promptly disrupting this serene soundscape without warning comes a cocktail of incisive, drill-like basslines, frantic, rattling synths and popping snares. Sure to invoke an ecstatic crowd reaction, it’s a characteristically forward-thinking cut from a producer whose name will no doubt be on listeners’ lips.
